What is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu?
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is the martial art designed for smaller practitioners, utilizing leverage to submit larger opponents through joint locks and chokes. It's both a sport and an art dedicated to self defense.

How does training differ from beginners to experts?
With beginners, an instructor's job is to help the student become comfortable with the art's culture, customs, and fundamental techniques. Experts on the other hand will have a much broader and deeper understanding of techniques, with the goal of sharpening the technique.
The fundamentals are going to be a key are of focus for beginners, defensive work and escapes specifically.

Do I need to be at a certain athletic level to train?
Not at all. You don't even need to be in shape. Very few things are going to get you into Jiu-Jitsu shape other than training Jiu-Jitsu. With more time on the mats, your cardio and an understanding of your own body will increase. You do not need to have been an athlete at any point in your life to get good at the art.

How does the remote coaching work?
In person Private Lessons are a fantastic way to get one-on-one coaching and be able to ask specific questions for quick growth. Sometimes students don't feel this is an option or want an outsider's perspective and suggestions. With technology the way it is, remote Private Lessons and mentorship have become a real possibility.
I will work with you remotely, answering questions and meeting over video chat, text, or even a phone call to discuss and provide answers for the issues you're dealing with.
